It's no wonder the return to basics is matched by the desire to expand beyond one’s current situation.

Artisan resurgence rivals technological advancement. Similarly, the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer. That which remains in the middle is stretched and torn apart while opposing ends of a societal spectrum overflow.

What becomes of the In-Betweens? The group that is neither rich nor poor; tech-savvy nor artisan; here nor there. Will they be forced to choose? Will they suddenly prefer homegrown to store bought; handhelds to home phones? Or will they have nothing left to grasp?
