At Brooklyn Chateau, terra cotta colored brick was discovered under three-inch thick plaster walls. And for fifteen years, terra cotta colored it remained. So it was time to freshen things up at Brooklyn Chateau with a DIY project: White washing brick. What we found is that white washing not only enhanced the texture of the brick it brought about a warmth and brightness we didn't know was missing. Insert an extra-large linen fixture and plated brass typography, and voila: a quintessential chateau entryway.
